The Birth of Resendme

Conceived by TheZeroWasteProjects.org, a non-profit set up with the goal of driving the U.S. toward full sustainability and the end of landfilling.  Working on various projects with the principles of Reducing waste, Recycling, and Reclaiming resources, Resendme was formed to take these principles and devise a company, a product, and a sustainable business model that could alter the course of our growing e-commerce waste and change the way we view our modern waste stream.

Resendme Mailer

As a startup Resendme has set out from scratch to create a product and service that will alter THE FUTURE OF SUSTAINABLE E-COMMERCE.  We have taken the stance that we have to completely revalue the services that deliver or e-commerce purchases and the impact this has on our communities and the health of our country.  Lagging behind other modern nations with healthy and mature economies, the U.S. generates more waste per capita and recycles less than nearly all of them.  This reality provides a great opportunity to those who seek to alter that course and Resendme has been formed to do just that.

Packaging and Shipping waste is a growing problem

In the U.S. there were roughly 13 Billion packages shipped, second only to China.  Of that 13 billion, nearly all of this was single-use cardboard and polypropylene packaging and of this, less than 1/3 was recycled.  This means that we have utilized vast national resources to generate a package that will be used one time and then sent to a landfill.  It is easy to see how in a growing industry, this out of control problem will only get worse if nothing is done now to reverse these practices.  If you could use this box twice, this would reduce the waste from 13 Billion to 6.5 billion, simply by used the box twice.  But imagine being able to reuse this packaging10, 20, 30 or more times.  Is it possible to eliminate this problem completely?

Reusable Mailers

Resendme thought, let’s start with a material that is destined to become waste and upcycle this into a product designed to prevent waste.  By creating reusable mailers from discarded billboard vinyl we are able to create reusable mailers without generating new waste.  Currently, on our third iteration and in preparation for our beta testing we have an affordable solution for your ecologically conscious business and customers.
